6 Must have Plugins for Genesis Framework

Genesis is one of the popular theme frameworks used by WordPress users. The main attraction of the Genesis Framework is innovative and catchy designs, inbuilt SEO options, responsive, loads faster, and much more. To make the framework more powerful Studiopress and other Genesis framework users have created lots of useful plugins to make the customization easier and themes look attractive. I have shortlisted the free plugins one Genesis Framework user must-have in this article.

Genesis Simple Edits

This plugin I most like of all plugins. If you are a layman in PHP coding like me you also gonna love this plugin. With the help of Genesis Simple Edits, you can change Post info, Metadata, Footer, and copyright info without knowing PHP. This plugin has no side-effect effect upon the theme framework and changes will revert if you deactivate the plugin.

Genesis Design Palette

Want to change the color scheme and fonts without messing up the main CSS? Just install the Genesis Design Palette plugin and change the color and background of your Genesis enabled blog, also change the size and font of all the texts. This plugin creates a custom CSS file that overwrites the current CSS file and when you disable/deactivate the plugin changes will be reverted.

Genesis Simple Sidebars

Want to add a new widget area in your blog and don’t know how to do this without harming the theme? Genesis Simple Sidebars will help you in this situation. Using Simple sidebars you can easily assign multiple new widget areas and attach them in a specific post, page, or archives. That means you can avoid the complex process of adding hooks and editing function.php file to get the customization done.

Genesis Slider

If you are running a gadget or tech niche blog, the slider is a must-have widget. There no inbuilt slider facility on Genesis Framework but they provide a plugin for free with which you can easily slow slider on any widget area with selected categories. The slider is responsive and automatically grabs the featured images from posts.

Genesis Tabs

Genesis Tabs lets you show posts from various categories in a single widget section. After installing the plugin select the categories to want to feature and the recent post from the category will be available on the widget with post expert and image thumbnail.

Simple URLs

Want to make your ugly affiliate URLs an attractive looking shortcode? Simple URLs is the best solution for this, with this plugin you can also track the clicks on the links without using any 3rd party analytics system. Though this plugin not fully compatible with WordPress 3.5.2 above versions, but works fine for me in 3.6 version.

There are some other attractive plugins available like Genesis Simple MenusGenesis eNews ExtendedSocial Profiles Widget, etc give them a try to share your experience with them.
